On November 12th, Dyna-Mac brought a refreshing twist to employee wellness by organizing a lively and interactive Health Carnival. The event was aimed at promoting healthy living, boosting morale, and raising awareness about physical and mental well-being in a fun and engaging way. The carnival featured a diverse range of activities designed to educate, entertain, and inspire employees to take charge of their health. From fitness challenges to wellness games, the Health Carnival proved to be a vibrant and meaningful event.

The Carnival started with the Masala Dance which is a cardio workout created by Sarina Jain in the 1990s. It combines Bhangra, Bollywood techniques, and modern dance styles with upbeat and energizing music.  Various activities are being held during the Carnival:

1. BMI Assessment: Know Your Numbers

One of the first stops for participants was the BMI (Body Mass Index) assessment booth. This simple yet insightful test helped employees better understand their overall health by measuring their body composition. With trained healthcare professionals available to explain the results and offer tips for improving or maintaining a healthy weight, employees walked away with personalized advice on how to better care for their bodies.

2. My Healthy Plate: Building Balanced Meals

At the “My Healthy Plate” station, participants learned about the fundamentals of balanced nutrition. Using the concept of a healthy plate – which includes appropriate portions of vegetables, proteins, and grains – employees had the opportunity to plan their ideal meals. This hands-on activity not only educated employees about the importance of nutrition but also gave them practical tips they could incorporate into their daily routines.

3. Jenga: A Giant Game of Balance

For a fun twist on traditional wellness activities, the carnival featured a giant Jenga game. This oversized version of the classic game challenged participants to think strategically, working together to remove wooden blocks without toppling the tower. The game was a fantastic way to break the ice, improve teamwork, and showcase the importance of balance – both literally and figuratively – in maintaining overall health.

4. Tiki of Truth: A Wellness Q&A

Another unique feature of the carnival was the “Tiki of Truth” booth, which added an element of mystery and fun to the event.  Employees are to throw the bean bag into different nets which will be filled with different questions.   The Tiki of Truth was a popular station, as it encouraged open conversations about personal health concerns in a relaxed, no-pressure environment.

5. Blind Masseuse: Relax and Rejuvenate

To help employees unwind and experience relaxation firsthand, the carnival also featured a massage activity. This session offering involved employees receiving a soothing massage from a skilled blind masseuse, allowing employees to enjoy a relaxing neck and shoulder massage.

Promoting a Holistic Approach to Health

The Dyna-Mac Health Carnival was more than just a one-day event; it was a celebration of the company’s commitment to fostering a culture of health and well-being. Through the diverse activities offered, the carnival emphasized the importance of taking a holistic approach to health—one that encompasses physical fitness, mental wellness, social connections, and proper nutrition.

In addition to the hands-on activities, employees were also encouraged to adopt healthier lifestyle habits by incorporating the tips and strategies they learned throughout the day. Whether it was finding a better work-life balance, incorporating more fruits and vegetables into their meals, or simply taking time for self-care, the Health Carnival served as a reminder that small, everyday changes can have a significant impact on overall well-being.
